The government set to close the year at higher pitch





A cabinet sitting was held today under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan

Addressing the meeting, Tigran Sargsyan noted that the 2010 action plan performance reports need to be heard almost a quarter before this yearend. Ministers and agency heads were told to report themselves to the Prime Minister on October 8 to review individual performances for the past 3 quarters and formulate tasks for the fourth quarter of 2010. The reports which must contain sphere supervisors’ forecasts are meant to ensure a possibly high performance degree.

The Government of the Republic of Armenia approved the project of Armenian oncology center of excellence. The national competitiveness fund was proposed to prop up development of nuclear medicine in Armenia and coordinate the center setup activities. The Minister of Economy was told to ensure the signing of contracts on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Armenia with Belgian IBA molecular organization and KBC NV Bank on the procurement and financing of “Cyclone 18/18” cyclotron. Corresponding assignments were issued for the ministers of healthcare and education and science respectively.

The Government approved a model statute for the ministry-integrated public entities entrusted with project implementation in an effort to enhance control efficiency on the part of the Government, the Prime Minister and the authorized agency.

The meeting next discussed and approved the 2010 cost estimate for the extra-budgetary expenditures to be incurred under the program of asset replenishment, substitution, borrowing, and alienation transactions of the State Reserve Agency by the Ministry of Emergency Situations. AMD 28790.5 thousand worth of assets are scheduled to be purchased and stored by the State Reserve in 2010.

The cabinet endorsed the bill on amendments to the court ruling enforcement law in an effort to streamline application modalities, address existing shortfalls and harmonize with the legislative framework applicable in Armenia.

The mentioned bills along with government’s findings will be submitted to the National Assembly in the manner established by law.

The meeting agenda featured some 40 items altogether.
