Tigran Sargsyan: “We will have a bright future, if today's hero is an educated and intellectual young man

Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan took part in the opening ceremony of the Armenian Youth Foundation-hosted “Baze – 2010” youth gathering, attended by over 280 young people between 18 and 30 years of age from Armenia, Artsakh and Javahk.

Welcoming the participants, Tigran Sargsyan noted that the year was marked by numerous pan-Armenian events. The Prime Minister assured that his government will do its best to prop up youth movement in the Republic of Armenia. According to the head of government, “Baze”provides an excellent platform for rallying, developing joint programs and introducing new culture into youth movement.

Tigran Sargsyan congratulated the participants on the twentieth anniversary of Armenia’s Declaration of Independence: “The day is also special as we mark the twentieth anniversary of Armenia’s Declaration of Independence. Many of you were born just as we were laying the foundations of the Republic of Armenia. The Declaration was historical in that it incorporated those fundamental principles which allowed us to build a statehood based on laws and statutory acts. I am congratulating you all on the anniversary of our Declaration of Independence.”

The Prime Minister stressed the need for our youth to get a high-quality education: “It is a well-known fact that only those nations keen on knowledge and learning can have a competitive advantage in the modern world. Today’s world is not only the arms race: it is first of all an intellectual competition. We will have a bright future, if today's hero is an educated and intellectual young man. I think we have much to do yet in this respect.”

For the third time already, the Prime Minister delivered blood under the Voluntary and Free Delivery of Blood effort, initiated by the Armenian Youth Foundation and “Club – 25” international organization.
