RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received newly appointed German ambassador to Armenia Hans-Jochen Schmidt.

Congratulating Hans-Jochen Schmidt on appointment, Tigran Sargsyan expressed conviction that the Armenian-German relations will keep on developing and expanding in future. According to the head of government, these relations stand out for their efficiency as may be evidenced by international organizations. The Prime Minister singled out the KfW-supported SME lending program in Armenia which was acknowledged to be the best international experience in 2004-2005. Tigran Sargsyan made a point of harmonious territorial development programs.

The Ambassador thanked the Prime Minister for a warm welcome by noting that it obliged him to work even harder and with greater energy. Germany was said to be interested in expanding the cooperation in a variety of areas inclusive of economy, education and research.

In conclusion, appreciating the Ambassador’s readiness to promote bilateral relationship, Tigran Sargsyan reiterated his best wishes of every success.
