Today the Council for Coordination of Water-User Companies' and Water-User Company Unions' Operations has held a meeting presided at by RA Minister of Territorial Administration Hovik Abrahamyan.
The meeting has assessed as satisfactory the work done by water-user companies during the latest irrigation campaign. At the same time, attention was called upon the shortfalls revealed in order to set them right before start-up of the next season. It was reported that domestic water-users' contribution to the State treasury reached the highest ever post- soviet period mark of AMD3bn in the 2005, which was the 67% of the planned target.
The Council took notice of water-user companies' yearly budget statements as of December 1, 2005 and approved the proposed draft budgets with appropriate amendments.
In closing, the meeting heard the report on the progress in founding "Arzni-Shamiram" union of water-user companies and recommended to continue making efforts to that effect.
