On November 15, 2005, a Prime Minister-led Armenian delegation will leave for Tunisia to participate in the second stage of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS). The delegation comprises Vice-Chairman of IT Development Support Council, Senior presidential adviser Vahram Nercissiantz, Minister of Trade and Economic Development Karen Cheshmarityan, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs Arman Kirakosyan, RA Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Tunisia Levon Sargsyan, Deputy Minister of Trade and Economic Development Tigran Davtyan, Chairman of State Customs Committee under RA Government Armen Avetisyan, Adviser to Prime Minister Ara Hacobyan, Secretary of IT Development Support Council Armen Grigoryan, President of the IT Foundation Garegin Chougasizyan, Executive Director of the Union of IT Enterprises Karen Vardanyan, Director of Enterprise Incubator Foundation Bagrat Yenguibaryan, experts from the Foundation and the USAID, heads of corresponding structural units of the Office of Government, Ministry for Foreign Affairs, other officials.

High-level State delegations from over 170 countries of the world, international and non-governmental organizations, as well as major private IT companies will attend the Tunisian summit. A broad range of strategic and political issues pertinent to the development of the Information Society will be discussed. Armenia, too, will be represented with a separate stand showing the achievements of our country in the sphere of information technologies.

In the morning of November 16, the Prime Minister will attend the ceremonial opening of the Summit and participate in the discussions of the first meeting. Then Mr. A. Margaryan and the members of the Armenian delegation will visit the pavilion of Armenia, as well as that of InTel company, will attend the presentation of a disk nominated by our country referred to as "Aram Khachatourian: life and activity", which has been awarded the main prize for the best interactive content. Later on, the Prime Minister will attend an official dinner hosted by UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan.

The thematic discussions will be continued at the second and third meetings of the Summit. In the second half of the day, the Prime Minister and the members of delegation will visit Alcatel's pavilion, then they will participate in the WSIS gala award at which RA Prime Minister A. Margaryan among eight other heads of State and UN organizations will hand over to the winners the prizes proposed in eight different categories covering e-science, e-education, e-government, e-culture, e-business etc.

On November 17, the topical discussions will be continued with the fourth meeting to be chaired by Mr. Margaryan. On the same day, the Prime Minister will deliver a statement.

In the second half of the day, Prime Minister A. Margaryan will meet with the management of SUN Microsystems Inc..

On November 18, last day of the summit, the final documents of the summit will be adopted as followed with the ceremonial closing of the WSIS.

On November 19, the Prime Minister-led Armenian delegation will be back to Yerevan.
