Introducing to the staff of RA Ministry of Transport and Communications the newly appointed Gurgen Sargsyan and congratulating him on his appointment, the RA Prime Minister emphasized that the transport and communications sector is the key to the development of our country's economy.
"This sector is extremely important for Armenia, especially, taking into account the geopolitical problems and those challenges which today face our country. There are serious tasks set before the ministry and I am confident that, together with you, the newly appointed minister will be able to address them. It is extremely important for us to have a competitive edge in the sphere of transport and communications because it is supposed to influence significantly all the other economic sectors. The IP sphere is specified as a top priority in the programs of the government and it is evident that only due to your dedicated work we will be able to make a breakthrough and become a regional leader. I think that Gurgen Sargsyan has the qualities which are necessary for the decision of this task.
And now I want to speak about Andranik Manukyan. Together, we have covered a long path. This path was full of difficulties. All of you are well aware of the responsibility vested in Mr. Manukyan during the years of statehood engineering. With the help of God, he managed to overcome all the problems and served our people faithfully. With reference to the activities of Mr. Manukyan, "Aravot" newspaper today has expressed quite a high opinion of the work done by him. The newspaper has noted that Mr. Manukyan was able to establish warm relations with his colleagues in various countries of the world which must be upheld and developed. And I am convinced that while on a new post, Mr. Manukyan will back the newly appointed minister and will help him strike new ties with colleagues from different countries. I am also convinced that these relations will serve our common cause."
