Introducing to the staff of RA Ministry of Territorial Administration the newly appointed minister Armen Gevorkyan and congratulating him on his appointment, the Prime Minister emphasized that Mr. Gevorkyan will assume the duties of RA Vice-Premier as well which means that territorial administration a top priority for the Government of the Republic of Armenia:

"One of the primary goals of the activity of the RA Government is the proportional development of territories. It is not a secret that the concentration in Yerevan today hinders the development of our economic system. Here again, serious efforts have to be made. The President of the Republic has already made public some initiatives, in particular, the idea of creating a financial center in Dilijan town, which means that we will manage to take away from Yerevan a number of departments operating in the financial sector. In future, we shall submit similar initiatives to the public's attention and, quite naturally, this policy has to be developed and carried out by your ministry. This is quite an ambitious approach because it implies that we should present ourselves as a regional center in a number of spheres. Therefore, breakthrough program have to be implemented in the field of proportional development of territories. The long experience and knowledge of Mr. Gevorkyan instill hope that together with you we will be able to realize these ambitious programs of ours."

The head of the RA government also thanked Hovik Abrahamyan who supervised the ministry over several years by holding the post of RA Vice-Premier at the same time: "I think you have covered a long path together and we had serious achievements during these years: new relationships have been forged with local authorities, an attempt is underway to introduce a new culture in these relations. I am convinced that on the new post Mr. Abrahamyan will support the newly formed government in the realization of our ambitious programs as we can only convert into reality those ideas and goals which are set before us through joint work and combined efforts."

The newly appointed ministries thanked the RA President and the Prime Minister for trust and appointment to the responsible post of minister.
