IMF Managing Director Dominique Strauss-Kahn has sent a congratulatory message to Tigran Sargsyan on his appointment to the post of RA Prime Minister. The message states in part:
"Dear Mr. Sargsyan,
I am very pleased to congratulate you on your appointment as Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia. Many important reforms were accomplished during your-decade-long tenure as central bank governor, including the adoption of inflation targeting, the development of a strong system of banking supervision, and the introduction of anti-money laundering legislation. Your demonstrated commitment to reform and intellectual leadership bode well for the new government's success in tackling Armenia's remaining policy challenges. We know that you will set the bar high, and are confident that you will achieve your goals.
For more than 15 years, the IMF has been working very productively with the Armenian authorities on a wide range of economic reforms and policies, not least under the umbrella of three consecutive programs supported by the Poverty Reduction and Growth Facility. I would like to assure you that we stand ready to continue working with you closely in your new capacity, and will do our best to support your efforts to sustain reform dynamism and economic development in Armenia.

Primate of the Eastern Diocese of Northern America of the Armenian Apostolic Church Archbishop Khajag Barsamian has sent a congratulatory message to Tigran Sargsyan on his appointment to the office of RA Prime Minister. The message states in part:
