RA Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan received a delegation led by EU Special Representative for South Caucasus Peter Semneby, which comprised Head of EC Mission in Armenia Raul Lutzenberger, political advisers to the EU Special Representative in South Caucasus Andrei Dydenko and Rasa Ostrauskaite, as well as French Ambassador to Armenia Serge Smessow.

At this follow-up meeting with Peter Semneby, again Serzh Sargsyan discussed the internal political situation in Armenia following the presidential elections. Mr. Semneby said to be quite encouraged after he has heard the statement made by the Prime Minister during the government session and that he hopes that the key points of the statement will provide a starting-point for social consolidation, easing of tension and establishment of stability in the country. The parties also have touched upon the state of emergency declared in capital and the restrictions applicable under these conditions. The need for a possibly prompt removal of these restrictions was emphasized on either side. Peter Semneby also evoked some concerns as raised during the meetings held with different political forces over the last few days.

The Prime Minister presented his vision of these concerns. He emphasized once again that he is interested in political dialogue and stands ready to cooperate and enter into dialog with all those individuals and political forces which accept the rule of law and are prepared to dialogue. "Those having breached or to breach the law will be held answerable for their deeds. We are resolute in continuing and stepping up the pace of reforms in our country and in this respect stand ready to cooperate with any constructive force," Serzh Sargsyan stressed.

During the meeting, the parties have also referred to the ceasefire breach in the contact-line between the NKR and Azerbaijan. The Prime Minister described the incident in detail and expressed hope that with the assistance of international organizations which are well aware of the situation at hand it will be possible to avoid such cases in future.
