President of the Syrian Arab Republic Bashar Al-Assad has congratulated RA Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan on his election to the post of President of the Republic of Armenia. The congratulatory message states in part:




"Excellency,




On the occasion of your election as President of the friendly Republic of Armenia, I have great pleasure in extending on behalf of the Syrian Arab Republic and on my own behalf, our sincere congratulations to Your Excellency and to the friendly people of Armenia.




I also express my best wishes for your good health and happiness and for the continued progress and prosperity of your people.




On this occasion, I also express my confidence that the relations of friendship and cooperation between our two countries will further prosper in the coming years.

Chairman of the Council of Federation of RF Federal Assembly Sergey Mironov has congratulated RA Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan on his election to the post of President of the Republic of Armenia. The congratulatory message reads as follows, in particular:
