President of the Armenian General Benevolent Union Perch Sedrakian has congratulated Serzh Sargsyan on his victory in Armenia's presidential election. The congratulatory message states in part:
"As an expression of people's will, your election indicates the aspiration of the Armenian people to live in peace and stability, the preservation and progress of structures that are to guarantee economic growth and gradual distribution of national wealth throughout the country.
Knowing you in person, I am aware and think much of your administrative skills and adherence to principles in action and decision-making. I am convinced that under your leadership, Homeland will continue to prosper and become stronger, supporting the security of the country and those values achieved by freedom, dignity and pride.
The close ties maintained by the Armenian General Benevolent Union with the Motherland and the contribution to its development come from the very origin of the Union, since the most unfortunate and politically confusing times up to today's difficult, but reliable path leading to the bright future. On these days in Armenia, we are proceeding to the implementation of sizeable and courageous programs for the part of the Union, having as a basic purpose the strengthening of ties between Motherland and the new generation of Armenians in the Diaspora.
We are convinced that with your assistance and under your high patronage these programs should be carried out during your term of office for the sake of our homeland and people.
