Today the Governing Council of Millenium Challenge Account-Armenia SNCO has met at the Office of Government, presided at by Council Chairman, RA Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan.


Among other agenda items, the meeting has discussed and approved the results of the assessment of technical bids for the purchase of consulting services under the Feasibility Study for the Refurbishment and Enhancement of Efficiency for 68 Pump-Houses component, which have been approved and are subject to MCC consideration.


The meeting has also approved the results of the assessment of technical bids for the provision of consulting services under the Final Design and Construction Monitoring of 4 and 8 Natural-Flow Systems component, subject to the MCC's approval.


The meeting has also discussed the question of short-listing those companies having applied for the provision of consulting services under the Final Design and Construction/Rehabilitation Monitoring of 7 Irrigation Reservoirs and approved of the invitation of interest to the tender. The invitation envisages design and construction monitoring for 7 reservoirs. The project will be administered in 3 separate packages. The first package will cover the completion of reservoir rehabilitations in Artik and Kaps, the second one will feature the construction of a reservoir in Lichk and the third package- similar actions in Argich, Vardenut, Lernarott, Bagravan settlements. The feasibility studies of these projects were reported to be in progress which will help finalize the list of reservoirs.


The Council has reviewed the short-listing results for those organizations having expressed interest in the provision of consulting services under the Rehabilitation Design and Construction Monitoring for 3-rd Grade Irrigation Canals and approved the text of invitation of proposals from such companies. It was noted that the enclosed technical proposals should stipulate that 27 months would be allowed for design activity, with the duration of monitoring activities extending to 35 months. The contract with the successful consultant is expected to be effective as of April, 2008.


The meeting has discussed and approved the changes to the agreement signed between the MCA-Armenia and the Armenian Directorate for Motor-Roads on January 15, 2007 and the amendments to the procurement plan adopted by the Governing Council of MCA-Armenia SNCO on July 25, 2007.


The meeting has also approved the results of the assessment of technical proposals received from consulting companies for the position of MCA-Armenia's auditing company, subject to submission for the consideration of the MCC.


Among other agenda items, the Council has discussed and approved the invitation of standardized proposals for the selection of consulting companies, which has been developed based on the World Bank
