RA Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan received the delegation led by Chairman of Board of Directors of the renowned Lebanese CreditBank Tarek Khalif. The Prime Minister welcomed the intention of the CreditBank to get involved in Armenia and noted that this was in full line with the domestic financial market development policy pursued by the RA Government. According to the Prime Minister, the expertise of the Bank may be useful to our country, considering that Lebanon has always been a financial center and has made serious progress in the development of the financial market.


CreditBank's Chairman of Board of Directors Tarek Khalif expressed his appreciation of our government's readiness of cooperation and went on to mention that the meetings-discussions had with the Central Bank of Armenia and with the partners of several Armenian banks had further strengthened the Bank's intention of striking activity in Armenia the more so that their observations had shown the availability of quite a favorable environment and good development prospects in Armenia. Therefore, he said the Bank would be happy to contribute to the development of Armenia's economy. The Chairman of CreditBank's Board of Directors emphasized the importance of CreditBank-RA Government cooperation as to the implementation of specific investment programs in agriculture, infrastructure development and industry.


Regarding the commitment of Lebanese equity into the Armenian market, both sides have mentioned the important role of the Armenian community of Lebanon. This was said to be evidenced by the presence of key representatives of the Armenian community in the delegation headed by the Chairman of the CreditBank's Board of Directors, as well as their constant efforts towards the development of the Armenian-Lebanese relationship and cooperation.


At the close of the meeting, Serzh Sargsyan wished every success to CreditBank in the implementation of its programs in our country and went on to assure that the Government of Armenia would do everything within its power to promote the realization of any prospective program to the mutual advantage.
