Today RA Prime Minister A. Margaryan has received permanent representative of the UNDP and UN resident coordinator in Armenia Ms. Lise Grande upon completion of her mission in Armenia.

Highly appreciative of Ms. Grande's past activities in our country, the Prime Minister emphasized her services in ensuring Armenia's participation in the UN proceedings.

The head of government thanked Ms. Lise Grande for the valuable assistance extended to the Armenian government in several areas, including the stake taken by her in the design of the national program for poverty reduction and the fruitful work done with the Armenian NGOs.

The UN permanent representative in Armenia said the work in Armenia to be a wealth of experience for her by adding that it was going to be a great contribution to her future activities. Ms. Grande stressed that there was a tangible positive shift in Armenia as compared to the time she entered into office: the government has done considerable amount of work as to the reforms in the economic field and other spheres as well. For her part, she thanked the Prime Minister for having signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation with the UN and for the trust had in the organization she represented.

At the close of the meeting, Prime Minister A. Margaryan wished every success to Ms. Lise Grande and expressed the hope that she would be as much successful in her future activities as she used to be in Armenia.
