RA Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan received Prosecutor General of the Republic of Hungary Tamas Kovac.



The parties spoke about the furtherance of cooperation between the law-enforcement agencies of the two countries, inclusive of the systems of public prosecution. The Prosecutor General of Hungary noted with satisfaction that active work had been carried out since 2000 to deepen the collaboration with Armenian counterparts and expressed satisfaction at the opportunity of signing a cooperation agreement during this visit, which provided a solid framework for interaction strengthening. Mr. Kovac said that the cooperation would be considerably facilitated by the fact that the systems of public prosecution in Hungary and Armenia much in common in both structural and functional respects.



The Prime Minister of Armenia felicitated his guest over the signing of said cooperation instrument and went on to prioritize the development of cooperation and exchange of know-how between the countries of Eastern Europe as they had a lot of similarities and mutual assistance would be quite useful to all of them.



The parties have also referred to the court proceedings regarding the assassination of Armenian army officer Gurgen Margaryan as a result of which the Azeri murderer was inflicted upon the supreme measure of punishment. Serzh Sargsyan expressed hope that the Hungarian law court will henceforth keep up to the mark in handling this case.
