RA Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan received the delegation led by Chairman of Board of "RAO EES Rossiya" OJSC Anatoly Chubays who is in Armenia to attend the current session of the CIS Energy Council.





To begin with, Anatoly Chubays congratulated Serzh Sargsyan on the successful completion of parliamentary elections in Armenia and wished the GoA and the Prime Minister every success in future activities. He briefed Mr. Sargsyan on the range of issues discussed at the session of the Energy Council and the priorities set forward. Anatoly Chubays stressed the importance of the agreement on the establishment of a common energy market for CIS-member States as signed at the latest meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government in Yalta.



Highly appreciative of the cooperation maintained with Armenia in the field of power engineering and distribution, the Chairman of Board of "RAO EES Rossiya" said that his company had always enjoyed the assistance and support of the Armenian authorities. Anatoly Chubays also spoke about the programs on harmonized operations of the power supply systems of CIS and European countries.



The Prime Minister of Armenia expressed readiness to continue the mutually advantageous cooperation in the energy sector and said to be in favor of the plans on formation of a common energy market and the inclusion of Armenia in the integrated power grid.



At the request of his interlocutor, the Prime Minister presented the economic situation in Armenia and the performance record of the Government for the past few years.
