NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer congratulated Serzh Sargsyan on his appointment to the post of RA Prime Minister. Mr. Scheffer's message reads as follows, in particular: "I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you on your appointment as Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia and wish you all the best in your new responsibilities. I would also like to thank you for the valuable leadership you provided to the process of defence reforms under the Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP) between Armenia and NATO in your previous responsibilities as Defence Minister and Secretary of the National Security Council.
It was very good to meet with you during your recent visit to NATO Headquarters and I understand the Council discussions, which followed our meeting, went very well. Armenia and NATO have a productive and valuable partnership, which manifests itself in Armenia
