RA Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan received President of the Armenian General Benevolent Union Perch Sedrakian and Head of the AGBU Armenia Office Ashot Ghazaryan. They congratulated Mr. Sargsyan on his appointment and wished him every success by stressing that the AGBU would continue backing the native government as much as possible so as to further strengthen the Homeland and promote our people's well-being.



The Prime Minister thanked the AGBU President for his congratulations and the willingness of support and went on to emphasize the importance of the stake held by the Union in the educational area.



During the meeting, the Unions' role in the maintenance of the Armenian identity throughout Diaspora's communities, consolidation of their potential for the sake of a stronger Motherland was emphasized on either side.



Mr. Sedrakian briefed the Prime Minister on AGBU's future programs and spoke of the success of AGBU's 100th anniversary celebrations in Armenia.



Serzh Sargsyan noted that AGBU's programs were in line with the programs of the Armenian government which was contributive of higher efficiency of cooperation and expressed readiness on behalf of the GoA to build on the existing ties of close cooperation.
