Today the Governing Council of Millenium Challenge Account - Armenia SNCO has met at the Office of Government, presided at by Council Chairman, RA Prime Minister Andranik Margaryan. The meeting was attended by U.S. Charge d'Affaires in Armenia Anthony F. Godfrey, Millenium Challenge Corporation-Armenia Program Coordinator Alex Rassin, Deputy Director of the MCC Armenia Office Myron Hirniac, as well as Millenium Challenge Corporation Vice-President John Hewko who is in Armenia on a two-day official visit.




Before proceeding to the discussion of agenda items, Chief Executive Officer of Millenium Challenge Account - Armenia SNCO Ara Hovsepyan introduced Mr. Hewko to Council members and informed that Mr. Hewko had already called on the local office of his organization, visited Armavir marz and familiarized with the ongoing program activities. On behalf of MCC Director General, Ambassador George Danilovich, Mr. Hewko felicitated the Prime Minister of Armenia and the Governing Council membership on the successful start of the Armenia program and expressed hope that it would be completed with as much success. In this context, he emphasized the importance of Armenia's upcoming parliamentary elections' conformity to the international standards and said that together with the international observers, the management of the MCC was going to follow through the electoral processes.
