Today a meeting of the state commission for preparation of the 90th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide has been held at the Office of Government under the chairmanship of Prime Minister A. Margaryan.

The commission was briefed on the progress in the implementation of the assignments given at the previous meeting, most of which had been fulfilled in time. In particular, it was noted that the finalized version of the program had been handed out to commission members in order to have it approved at the meeting. The program features a multitude of various events to be held throughout the year. They will start in April with an international conference in commemoration of the Armenian Genocide and in promotion of human rights entitled "The 21st Century without Genocides." Several events are due to be held in Artsakh, in the Armenian-strong communities of the Diaspora and a number of such foreign countries as have officially recognized the Genocide.

In compliance of the assignments given at the previous meetings, the list of literature to be published on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the Genocide was reported to have been finalized. Mr. Aram Simonyan, Vice-Rector of the YSU, will be in charge of the interagency task force as set up to coordinate the ITF-assisted activities aimed at raising public awareness of the 90th anniversary of the Genocide by making use of modern state-of-the-art information technologies.

Also, the meeting has discussed a number of issues in connection with the funding of events.

Following the discussion, with due consideration of all the comments and suggestions made, the commission approved the finalized version of the program of events in commemoration of the 90th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
