Today the Council on Youth Affairs by Republic of Armenia Prime Minister has met at the Office of Government. Council members have discussed and heard the report on the programs carried out in 2006 and the actions aimed at the implementation of State policies in youth sphere, as well as the information on the primary programs planned for 2007 and priority directions. The course of performance of the assignments made at the previous session has been reported.
On the first question of agenda, Council chairman, RA Deputy Minister of Culture and Youth Affairs Arthur Pogosyan reported that the actions carried out under the 2006 State youth policy program stemmed from the goals fixed in the very concept of State policy in the given sphere and were realized according to the list and the schedule endorsed by the strategy of State youth policy for the period 2006-2007.
According to the speaker, the work carried out in the current year has been directed towards the maximal involving of young people in process of development of youth policies, maintenance of introduction of the social model of field governance. Work in the direction of creation of regional centers, formation of management councils, development of normative documents of youth policy (strategy of State youth policy for 2006-2007, the RA concept of informal education, the national youth report of Armenia) has been performed. Active was the cooperation with the international structures operational in the Republic of Armenia, in particular, with the Academy of Educational Development, the United Nations etc.
According to the report, interdepartmental cooperation with the Ministries of Education and Sciences, Finance and Economy, Public Health, Labor and Social Affairs was active, too.
It was noted that in 9 marzes of the republic the Ministry of Culture and Youth Affairs had realized an important and voluminous program, as representations of "Organizational Center for Youth Actions" SNCO, in cooperation with the institutions of local government, sporting, public and international organizations, juvenile sports centers had been established which pursue the goal of provising young people living in the province broader access to State youth policies, more effective involvement in these programs, increase the level of their awareness as to youth policies etc. The school of young leaders was founded to pick up the most active young people and initiate them to the skills and knowledge of effective leadership.
