Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan receives EBRD delegation

Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan today received Alkis Drakinos, Regional Head of the Caucasus for the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and George Akhalkatsi, Head of the EBRD Office in Armenia, on the occasion of the end of their terms of office. Tomas Kairys and Remon Zakaria, who have been replacing the latter in these positions since September, were also present at the meeting.

Reflecting in detail on the effective cooperation established with the EBRD in recent years, Deputy Prime Minister Khachatryan particularly emphasized the role of Alkis Drakinos and George Akhalkatsi in initiating and implementing programs in line with the reform agenda of the Republic of Armenia. Deputy Prime Minister Khachatryan, congratulating Tomas Kairys and Remon Zakaria on assuming their positions, expressed confidence in the continuation of effective and consistent cooperation.

The interlocutors also exchanged views on the main directions of the current cooperation with the EBRD and the possibilities of expanding them. In this context, detailed attention was paid to the implementation of programs aimed at road construction, modernization of water systems, energy and other large infrastructure, as well as the development of the private sector.
