Arayik Harutyunyan meets with the Secretary General of the International Automobile Federation
Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister Arayik Harutyunyan met with the delegation led by the Secretary General of the International Automobile Federation (Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile – FIA) Valerio Iachizzi.
Arayik Harutyunyan highlighted the importance of cooperation with the International Automobile Federation in promoting the development of motorsports in Armenia. The Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister noted that the construction of a motorsports track in our country with the support of the federation will give a new impetus to the development of this sport.
Valerio Iachizzi highlighted Armenia’s potential and concrete achievements in creating a cross-car racing car within the framework of the “Matcheli Crosscar” project implemented by the FIA. The project aims to create an environment where it will be possible to enter motorsport without large financial investments, with local production and minimal resources. According to Valerio Iachizzi, it will allow Armenia to host the first regional cross-car series and pave the way for the organization of other prestigious championships in the future.
It was noted at the meeting that the Automobile Federation of Armenia, being an official member of the FIA, will support the implementation of the programs. The interlocutors also discussed various issues related to further cooperation.
