Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister Arayik Harutyunyan met with the UN Electoral Needs Assessment Mission.

During the meeting, the general political, legal, institutional, technical, human rights and security environment of the electoral processes in Armenia were discussed, as well as the current challenges related to the organization and implementation of the electoral processes and the main directions of reforms.

The sides exchanged ideas on strengthening public trust in the electoral processes, continuous improvement of electoral systems and possible directions of cooperation with international partners. The results of the Electoral Needs Assessment Mission will serve as a basis for assessing the formats and volumes of further UN assistance to the electoral processes in Armenia.

Arayik Harutyunyan reaffirmed the readiness of the Government of the Republic of Armenia to continue cooperation with relevant UN structures to ensure the transparency, inclusiveness and credibility of the electoral processes.
