Arayik Harutyunyan receives the delegation of the European Commission and the EEAS
The Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister Arayik Harutyunyan received the delegation led by the Deputy Managing Director for Eastern Europe and Central Asia of the European External Action Service, Audrone Perkauskiene, and the Director for Eastern Neighborhood and Türkiye of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Enlargement and Eastern Neighborhood, Adrienn Kiraly. The Head of the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Armenia, Ambassador Vassilis Maragos, was also present at the meeting.
Arayik Harutyunyan welcomed the delegation’s visit to Armenia and noted with satisfaction the dynamically developing Armenia-European Union relations. “I would like to emphasize that Armenia-European Union relations are at an unprecedentedly high level,” the Chief of the Prime Minister’s Staff noted, highlighting in this regard the adoption by the National Assembly of the Law “On the Launch of the Process of the Republic of Armenia’s Accession to the European Union”.
The members of the delegation, in turn, highly appreciated the level of relations between Armenia and the European Union and expressed their willingness to consistently support the democratic reforms being implemented in our country.
The interlocutors discussed issues related to the strengthening of democracy in Armenia, the development of civil society, and the deepening of cooperation with the EU in other areas.
