Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan meets with representatives of partner countries and international development organizations
Today, Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan chaired a regular meeting with development partners on the framework for supporting the livelihoods and employment of Armenian refugees from Karabakh. About five dozen heads and representatives of diplomatic missions and international organizations participated in the meeting.
Welcoming those present, the Deputy Prime Minister touched upon the current situation of the socio-economic inclusion of forcibly displaced Armenians, highly appreciating the cooperation established with partners in this direction. Referring to the priority tasks planned for the coming years, Tigran Khachatryan expressed hope that the effective cooperation established in the direction of providing effective livelihoods and employment opportunities and additional incentives will be continuous.
During the meeting, the framework document for the stabilization of the livelihoods of refugees and their host communities, developed under the leadership of the Government and with the support of the Office of the UN Resident Coordinator, the UNDP and the UNHCR, as well as the launch of the coordination framework with international development and humanitarian partners for its implementation were presented.
The meeting also focused on cooperation with development partners within the framework of the World Bank’s “Global Concessional Financing Facility”, emphasizing the importance of the continuity of the collection of grant resources, both for the current and subsequent program cycles.
The UN Resident Coordinator in Armenia, Françoise Jacob, representatives of international organizations and responsible state agencies also made speeches.
