Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister Arayik Harutyunyan participates in the Open Government Partnership Initiative Conference
On October 7, Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister Arayik Harutyunyan participated in the Open Government Partnership Initiative (OGP) Global Conference, held in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Kingdom of Spain. The conference was attended by Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Spain Pedro Sánchez.
The conference brought together high-ranking representatives of governments of different countries, authoritative international organizations, as well as civil society leaders. The aim of the event is to discuss the challenges facing modern democracies, information reliability and problems of disinformation, as well as effective models of innovative, transparent, participatory and accountable governance.
Arayik Harutyunyan participated in the OGP Steering Committee meeting and officially assumed the membership of the Government of the Republic of Armenia in the committee, becoming a full member of the policy development body of the initiative. This significant step testifies to the ongoing commitment of the Government of Armenia to develop a culture of open, inclusive and accountable governance, promote citizen participation and strengthen democratic institutions.
Armenia’s involvement in the OGP Steering Committee will provide an opportunity to actively participate in the global political dialogue on strengthening open governance and democracy, while exchanging best practices and presenting the results of Armenia’s reforms on international platforms.
