The Government improves the process of digitizing the driving license
Today, the regular Cabinet meeting took place, chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Mher Grigoryan.
The government adopted a decision due to the need to improve the process of digitizing the driving license. As Arpine Sargsyan noted, starting from September 1, citizens who have driving licenses no longer have any obligation to keep their plastic driving license with them. Before that, the principle of responsibility was in effect, that is, when there was no plastic card, the drivers were subject to administrative liability. “At the moment, digital driving licenses of all drivers have already been generated in the system, and through the identification system, our citizens who have a driving license can see them on the appropriate platform,” the minister said.
Arpine Sargsyan also reported that the registration certificate will also be available in a digital platform from September 1. The next change, according to the minister, concerns the theoretical and practical exams for obtaining a driving license. Citizens can take the theoretical and practical exams to obtain a driver's license at various examination departments of the registration office. Arpine Sargsyan also noted that the initiative to organize the purchase and sale of vehicles in a digital format has come into force.
The Government established the cases, procedure and deadlines for including information on control (identification) marks and their quantity in the accounting document in the case of the supply of stamped goods subject to mandatory marking with control (identification) marks. As noted by the Chairman of the State Revenue Committee Eduard Hakobyan, this mechanism will allow controlling the entire movement of goods, which will contribute to reducing the shadow economy.
By the decision of the government, more than 22 billion 887 million drams will be allocated for the implementation of construction works of a number of educational, cultural and sports institutions and for their necessary design and provision with property. The capital expenditures for the education sector under the decision amounts to about 21.8 billion drams, which are mainly directed to school construction programs, in particular, 8.95 billion drams are allocated to the school construction program to increase annual allocations for ongoing construction, 2.5 billion drams are allocated to the educational complex construction program to increase annual allocations for ongoing construction, 9.3 billion drams are allocated to the school renovation program to increase annual allocations for ongoing construction, as well as to launch the construction of new facilities.
By government decisions, Vahram Khachatryan was appointed Governor of Armavir, and Aren Mkrtchyan was appointed Governor of Lori.
