A comprehensive and enabling framework for education-business cooperation will be formed
Today, the regular Cabinet meeting was held, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Tigran Khachatryan.
The Government adopted a decision to resolve a number of fundamental issues in the vocational education and training sector. It will contribute to the professional development of personnel in accordance with the requirements of the labor market, the formation of appropriate abilities and skills among learners, the involvement of employers and the expansion of social partnership, integration into the European Educational Area and mutual recognition of qualifications. As a result, a comprehensive and enabling framework for education-business cooperation will be formed, ensuring the real participation of employers in all stages of the educational process, thereby guaranteeing the compliance of educational outcomes with the needs of the labor market. The decision provides for a two-tier system for licensing the implementation of an educational program: licensing the right to implement an educational program of the appropriate level of vocational education qualification and licensing each qualification. As noted by Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Zhanna Andreasyan, the decision is another step in reforms in the field of vocational education and training. Zhanna Andreasyan emphasized the importance of changes in the licensing procedure that are aimed at cooperation with the private sector.
The Government approved the procedure for the development and approval of urban development normative and technical documents. As noted by the Chairman of the Urban Development Committee Yeghiazar Vardanyan, strategic directions for the development of urban development normative and technical documents, regulations on the peculiarities of the procedures for their development, localization, modernization, amendment and approval will be established, including in terms of approximation to the norms of the urban development sector of the EU member states, their partial or complete localization and harmonization and application of the requirements of existing normative and technical documents.
The Government adopted a decision proposing to allocate 729 million drams to the Ministry of Health, conditioned by the provision of necessary medicines, as well as the provision of continuous blood glucose monitoring systems for patients aged 0-9 years and the acquisition of a service program. As noted by the Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan, both the list of drug users among the population and the number of beneficiaries are increasing year by year. “One of the important points of the decision is also the program for changing measuring devices for children with diabetes. This program is highly anticipated, and we have been working very actively with our partners to provide the latest technological solution for children,” said Anahit Avanesyan, adding that the list of medicines has also been expanded. The Minister also informed that currently the provision of devices will be provided to children under 10 years old, and subsequently it is planned to implement a similar program for those under 18 years old.
