The regular Cabiinet meeting takes place

The regular Cabinet meeting took place today, chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Tigran Khachatryan.

The Government approved the proposal to sign the financial agreement between the Republic of Armenia and the European Investment Bank “Armenia - Resilient Syunik Project” EFSD+ Special Investment Window 1”. According to the financial agreement, the total cost of the project is 50,000,000 euros in credit facilities. The project completion date is planned to be 5 years after the entry into force of the financial agreement.

Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan, addressing the issue, noted that although this is an initiative that has been discussed for a long time and has already been agreed upon with the European Investment Bank, this is not just about financing, but about the importance of what this means in Syunik, especially the quality of the social infrastructure of rural settlements. "We have had the opportunity to have numerous discussions, and I would also like to say right away that the European Investment Bank is not the only one that has joined the implementation of the important investment programs implemented by the Government in these areas, and the French Development Agency has also almost approved a number of complementary actions within the framework of this same initiative, which also relate to the issues of improving irrigation infrastructure in various settlements of Syunik. All of this, taking into account the large-scale work that the Government is carrying out to improve both school and preschool institutions, numerous public schools are being built, numerous health institutions are currently being built and renovated, all of these pursue the following goal: We are trying to address all the main existing issues in a short time to improve the condition of drinking water, irrigation, school, educational, preschool and also healthcare institutions," the Deputy Prime Minister noted.

The Government approved the proposal to sign the loan agreement “Armenia Tourism and Regional Infrastructure Program” between the Republic of Armenia and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The goal of the program is to improve access to climate-resilient infrastructure and increase the contribution of tourism to the local economies of the clusters included in the program. The total cost of the program is 120,500,000 euros, of which 96,400,000 euros are loan funds and 24,100,000 euros are co-financing from the Government of the Republic of Armenia. The deadline for the entry into force of the loan agreement for the program is 180 (one hundred eighty) days after the date of signing the loan agreement. The project completion date is set for August 31, 2030.

The government gave consent to donate the community-owned land and buildings located within the administrative boundaries of the Goris community of the Syunik region of the Republic of Armenia to the Children of Armenia Charitable Fund for the purpose of implementing the "Goris Community Development" program, which is qualified as a charity program.
