Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan receives WB Delegation



Today, Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan received the World Bank delegation, which included Sameh Wahba, Regional Director for Sustainable Development for Europe and Central Asia, and Rolande Pryce, World Bank Regional Director for the Caucasus. The meeting was also attended by Carolin Geginat, Country Manager of the World Bank for Armenia.

At the beginning of the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Khachatryan highlighted the deepening and continuous expansion of cooperation between Armenia and the World Bank, highly appreciating the significant role of the Bank in the implementation of programs aimed at sustainable development of Armenia. In particular, the importance of cooperation with the World Bank in the areas of local economy and infrastructure, agriculture, water resources management, and a number of other areas was emphasized.

During the meeting, the interlocutors also discussed a wide range of issues related to the impact of climate change and its consequences from the perspective of sustainable development. In this context, special attention was paid to the “Armenia Climate and Development Report” developed by the World Bank, emphasizing its guiding significance in terms of building the country’s climate resilience. The parties agreed to continue working discussions on the priority actions presented within the framework of the report in order to outline effective mechanisms for their implementation.
