Applications for appointment of pensions for people from Nagorno Karabakh are accepted from December 11

Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Araxia Svajyan, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Davit Khachatryan and Minister's Press Secretary Zaruhi Manucharyan presented the progress of the Government's support to our compatriots forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh during the briefing held at the "Humanitarian Center".

It was noted that since yesterday, the applications for appointment of pensions to our compatriots from Nagorno Karabakh are being accepted. Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Davit Khachatryan presented the details of the process. Accordingly, it is necessary to first apply to the regional passport departments of the Migration and Citizenship Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in order to be registered at the place of residence (either de facto or on a permanent basis). The deputy minister also referred to the complaints related to the queues caused by that process and noted that the relevant departments also work on Saturdays, serving exclusively our compatriots who were forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh.

Next, it is necessary to select the window "Online applications for Nagorno Karabakh pension" on the platform https://online.ssa.am/ by clicking on the field "Submit the application for the appointment of a pension for a Nagorno Karabakh pensioner in the Republic of Armenia".

According to Davit Khachatryan, as of today, more than 5000 applications have been received, of which 2118 have already been approved. According to him, more than 2,000 applications were rejected for a number of reasons. most applications were rejected on the basis of lack of registration at the address of the place of residence in the Republic of Armenia, there were also cases when the beneficiary was not a pensioner, payment of pension in the NK pension base was stopped, etc. It was also noted that the pensions and allowances will be paid in the order and amount according to the types of pensions and allowances provided by the Armenian legislation.

In case of difficulties while submitting the application, citizens can call 114 or contact any regional center of the Unified Social Service.

Araxia Svajyan referred to the support program for forcibly displaced teachers from Nagorno-Karabakh. According to the October 12 decision of the Government "On approving the support program for forcibly displaced teachers from Nagorno Karabakh in 2023", a support platform for teachers was launched in the Education Management Information System with the link kadrer.emis.am.

According to the deputy minister, as of today, 200 people have applied for work, of which 188 teachers have been sent to public educational institutions. "Taking into account the current reforms in the field of education, by the end of the month, with the support of WB, we will carry out training of these teachers, which will be aimed at organizing a learning process in accordance with the logic of the new standards," said the deputy minister. She reminded that teachers forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh will receive a 30 percent bonus when they start working in schools in all regions of the country, and in case of working in public educational institutions of Syunik, Vayots Dzor regions, Chambarak and Vardenis communities of Gegharkunik region, Noyemberyan, Ijevan and Berd communities of Tavush region, in addition to the 30 percent additional payment, they will also have a monthly additional payment of 50,000 AMD.

Araxia Svajyan also noted that 1,231 students study in primary and secondary vocational educational institutions, and 1,844 students study in universities. Compensation for the education of the latter is carried out in the form of a scholarship. The Deputy Minister also emphasized that in the coming days the Government will approve a decision that will allow to introduce tuition fee compensation mechanisms for students studying in vocational educational institutions and universities by September 19. Those students are mainly divided into 2 groups: those students whose tuition fees were reimbursed by the NK government and those students whose tuition fees used to be paid by their parents, but are currently having difficulties.
