11 thousand 238 children displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh enrolled in the educational institutions of Armenia

Deputy Health Minister of Armenia Artak Jumayan and Prime Minister's Press Secretary Nazeli Baghdasaryan presented from the "Humanitarian Center" of the government updated data on the progress of programs aimed at supporting forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno Karabakh.

The press secretary of the Prime Minister reminded that 52 thousand 600 people have already received the one-time sum of 100 thousand AMD. According to the data provided by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, the applications of about 18,000 minor children have been submitted to dimum.ssa.am.

According to the data provided by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia, as of October 10, 11 thousand 238 children forcibly displaced from Nagorno Karabakh continue their education in Armenian educational institutions. 3595 children receive education in Yerevan, the distribution according to regions is as follows. Syunik: 458, Vayots Dzor: 234, Gegharkunik: 535, Ararat: 1597, Kotayk: 1964, Aragatsotn: 512, Armavir: 956, Shirak: 427, Lori: 635, Tavush: 325.

"There are schools that have a license to admit a certain number of students. Naturally, in this case, the school refuses to admit the student and refers him to another nearby school. This is the only problem that sometimes, causing additional inconvenience, our compatriots forcibly displaced from Nagorno Karabakh are sent to other schools. There is a similar problem related to kindergartens in Yerevan," said the Prime Minister's press secretary.

Nazeli Baghdasaryan also informed that some teachers displaced from Nagorno Karabakh have started working in educational institutions, for example: 5 teachers and 3 assistant teachers in Syunik, 2 teachers in Vayots Dzor, 1 in Gegharkunik, 20 in Ararat, 25 in Kotayk, 6 in Aragatsotn, 12 in Armavir. Currently, 11 applications are being considered in Shirak, 10 in Lori, 2 in Tavush.

Artak Jumayan noted that 264 people are receiving inpatient treatment, the condition of 97 of them remains serious, 12 are extremely serious, and the health condition of 7 children is moderate. The Deputy Minister reminded that some patients receive their treatment abroad: USA, Italy, France, Belgium, Bulgaria. It is also planned that some patients will have the opportunity to continue their treatment in Spain in the near future.

Artak Jumayan also informed that medical teams from different countries including Spain, Israel, USA, England and Italy are also involved in Armenian medical facilities.

At the moment, 18,786 citizens, of which 5,600 are children, are registered in polyclinics and outpatient clinics. More than 250 pregnant women were registered. Mobile teams established by the Ministry visit temporary shelters. It was emphasized that the treatment of forcibly displaced citizens from Nagorno-Karabakh is carried out within the framework of the state order.
According to the deputy minister, 320 displaced medical workers have been registered, of which 153 are senior and 167 middle-level medical workers. There are 273 senior medical workers and 59 middle medical worker vacancies in the regions.

Nazeli Baghdasaryan reminded that at the upcoming session the Government plans to adopt the program for the compensation of renting expenses, which is planned for the next 6 months. Accordingly, it is planned to provide 40,000 AMD for apartment rent and 10,000 AMD for utility costs to each forcibly displaced person.
