Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan receives the newly appointed Ambassador of France to Armenia
On August 18, Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan received the newly appointed Ambassador of France to Armenia, Olivier Decottignies.
Tigran Khachatryan congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment, expressing his belief that maximum efforts will be made to continuously strengthen and expand Armenian-French friendly relations. The Deputy Prime Minister highly commended the role of France in the efforts to establish just peace in the region, specially emphasizing the addressed statements and efforts of France aimed at preventing the humanitarian disaster as a result of the eight-month-long blockade of the Lachin Corridor from which two months of total blockade, including the statement at the extraordinary session of the UN Security Council on the issue of humanitarian disaster in Nagorno-Karabakh.
Ambassador Decottignies thanked for the warm welcome and reaffirmed France's commitment to deepen cooperation and fill the bilateral agenda with new directions of cooperation.
During the meeting, the parties also exchanged ideas on a number of important issues of the Armenian-French cooperation agenda, including bilateral economic and decentralized cooperation. The sides highly appreciated the effective cooperation formed with the French Development Agency in the modernization of irrigation systems, agriculture and a number of other fields, highlighting the need to implement new programs.
