Deputy PM Tigran Khachatryan chairs regular session of the interdepartmental commission on road safety
The regular session of the interdepartmental commission on road safety issues, established by the Prime Minister's decision N 382-A of April 13, 2022, was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan. Deputy Prime Minister Khachatryan highlighted the priority of solving road safety issues, emphasized the cooperation and coordinated work of all concerned departments and bodies, which will have a positive and visible effect on improving the level of road safety and reducing traffic accidents.
During the session, the works carried out in the field of road safety, the statistics of traffic accidents, the steps and measures taken in the direction of reducing traffic accidents were discussed. The proposed amendments to the law pn "Automobile roads" were also discussed, which are aimed at the introduction of the Institute of Road Safety Auditor, the need to assess the road safety of Armenia, and the formation of the road safety management body.
Special emphasis was also placed on the implementation of road safety educational programs and, taking into account the successful experience of the online educational program implemented by the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure in cooperation with the "National Road Safety Council" NGO in 2021 in the sidelines of the "Road Safety Improvement" grant program, it was suggested to the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports to consider the possibility of including it in educational programs.
