Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan receives the EBRD delegation

Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan received the delegation headed by Mark Bowman, Vice President for Policy and Partnerships of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). EBRD Managing Director for Eastern Europe and Caucasus Matteo Patrone, EBRD Regional Director for Caucasus Catarina Bjorlin Hansen and EBRD Yerevan Office Head George Akhalkatsi were also present at the meeting.

Presenting the last year's macroeconomic indicators, the Deputy Prime Minister highly appreciated the cooperation with EBRD in the context of reforms initiated by the Government in the fields of economy and infrastructure. Commenting on the role of the EBRD in the accomplishment of the financial market of Armenia and, in particular, improving access to financing for SMEs, Deputy Prime Minister Khachatryan emphasized the importance of the EBRD-supported Investment Council as an effective platform for public-private dialogue aimed at improving the SME environment.

EBRD representatives reaffirmed the willingness of the bank to continue providing support to the development of the private sector, as well as to strengthen cooperation in the development of road and energy infrastructures, green economy, improvement of the urban environment and a number of other directions of mutual interest.
