Deputy PM Matevosyan receives representatives of leading technological and consulting companies
Deputy Prime Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan today received the representatives of leading technological and consulting companies who arrived in Armenia within the framework of the Global Innovation Forum organized by the Foundation for Armenian Science and Technology (FAST) in cooperation with the Government of the Republic of Armenia.
Welcoming the participants of the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister referred to the potential of Armenia as an important technology center, specially emphasizing the opportunities available for technology companies, as well as the general ecosystem and the development trends of the sector.
Emphasizing the importance of high technologies in the economic development of the Republic of Armenia, the Deputy Prime Minister reaffirmed the Government's commitment to building a knowledge-based and innovative economy. Deputy Prime Minister Matevosyan also presented the business environment and sectoral particularities of Armenia, expressing hope that businessmen will consider the possibilities of expanding their companies to Armenia.
Vincent Matera, President and CEO of Coherent Corporation, a leader in the field of photonics technologies, informed that Armenia is an interesting destination for expanding the company's activities, primarily due to the presence of talented young professionals and a favorable ecosystem.
During the meeting, possible directions of cooperation were also discussed. The sides highlighted possible cooperation with both the state sector and local companies and educational institutions.
