Arayik Harutyunyan meets with delegation of Open Government Partnership initiative
Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister, Open Government Partnership-Armenia Coordinator Arayik Harutyunyan received the delegation led by Shreya Basu, Deputy Director, Country Support at the Open Government Partnership.
Arayik Harutyunyan noted the importance of OGP's contribution to the establishing, increasing the level of transparency and accountability of participatory decision-making mechanisms in Armenia. The Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister noted that the Armenian Government is currently making efforts to develop a new ambitious OGP National Action Plan.
Shreya Basu praised the Government's efforts aimed at strengthening democracy, fighting against corruption and reforms carried out in the sidelines of the OGP.
At the same time, the importance of expanding the participatory process beyond the OGP, to the local level, was highlighted for best implementing public administration reforms and a number of Armenia's international obligations.
