The Government taking steps to improve the business environment

At today’s sitting, the government approved a draft decree on amendment to tax legislation. The sitting was followed by RA State Revenue Committee deputy head Rubik Kocharyan’s news conference at the Government’s press center.

The Speaker said that once effective, this amendment will help facilitate the process of business registration. In particular, formerly taxpayers had to submit a pre-specified set of documents to RA State Registry’s corresponding unit and report themselves within a month’s time to the tax authority for registration. From now on the principle of “one-stop-shop” will be applicable to business registration in Armenia.

This amendment implies that henceforth taxpayers will not be asked to pay penalties for failure to turn up within the specified one month period.
