Pension-lines to be ruled out

A cabinet sitting was held today, chaired by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan. Reminding his previous directive concerning the streamlining of the process of pension payment, Prime Minister asked the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs what had been done to that end. Based on the comments of the Minister, the Prime Minister concluded that as from this March the pensioners will no longer have to stand in line while getting their pensions. By Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan’s decision, Mushegh Tumanyan was relieved of the office of Deputy Minister of Economy according to his application and Vahe Danielyan was relieved of the office of Deputy Minister of Economy in order to take up another position. Under another decision signed by the Prime Minister, Garegin Melkonyan was relieved of the office of Armenia’s Trade Representative to the European Union to assume the post of Deputy Minister of Economy.   more »

Water meters to be installed in Ararat Valley fisheries

Hearings of agency reports completed

The Government heard today the 2010 annual report of the State Revenue Committee by the Government. State Revenue Committee Head Gagik Khachatryan reported back the activities carried out by the SRC in the period under review. In particular, he referred to the outcome of those actions implemented under the 2010 government program of activity and the status of the assignments given to his agency. Draft law discussed

The Government of Armenia discussed amendments to the law on temporary disability allowances. The proposed amendments seek to remove the average monthly pay threshold taken as a basis during the estimation of female staff pregnancy and confinement benefits and reconsider the order set for the calculation of average monthly wages. It is stipulated that benefits will also be paid for festive non-working days included in the period of temporary disability, exclusive of the weekends.... more »
