It was reported that the proposed amendments are meant to streamline the complex of activities related to the installation and periodic certification of gas cylinders for motor vehicles to run on compressed natural or liquefied petroleum gas, as well as to protect consumers’ rights, improve service quality and ensure proper control.

The amendments provide that the Government of the Republic of Armenia shall be vested with the authority to establish a procedure for activities related to the installation and periodic certification of gas cylinders for motor vehicles to run on compressed natural or liquefied petroleum gas, and a set of requirements and standards applicable to the production base of organizations performing these activities and the qualification of engineering personnel.
