RA Prime Minister attends NKR Independence Day-dedicated events





Set to attend the NKR independence 19th anniversary celebrations, the delegation headed by RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan arrived in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic and were welcomed by NKR Prime Minister Ara Haroutunyan at the airport of Stepanakert.

The head of the RA government joined NKR President Bako Sahakyan and Prime Minister Ara Haroutunyan to lay a wreath at the memorial complex dedicated to the martyrs of independence. Flowers were also offered to the monument commemorating late NKR Supreme Soviet first speaker Arthur Mkrtchyan.

The RA and NKR officials attended the inaugurations of Khatutik monument and two-time SU Hero Nelson Stepanyan’s bust, as well as the opening of the new building of high school N11 after Jhangiryan in Stepanakert. The Prime Minister of Armenia walked round the facility to see firsthand the school amenities. Tigran Sargsyan availed himself of the opportunity to extend congratulations on both the Independence Day and the beginning of the school year in Artsakh.

In the afternoon, Tigran Sargsyan went to see the historic town of Tigranakert. The head of government got acquainted with the archeological findings available on the site and made a record in the Book of Guests. Then, the Prime Minister visited the motoring station operational in Khramort community of Askeran region.

Later today, the delegation will attend other festive events in the capital city of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.

Early tomorrow, the Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan-led delegation will be back to Yerevan.
