The Prime Minister congratulates ex-president of Intel corporation board of directors on receipt of RA President’s award

Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan welcomed ex-president of Intel corporation board of directors Craig Barrett.

Greeting the guest, the Prime Minister congratulated the former president of Intel corporation board of directors on receipt of RA President’s award for valuable contribution to the IT sphere on a global level.

Down to joint project implementation possibilities, the interlocutors discussed the pace of joint action under the World Ahead program, which has school computerization and teacher training components.

Tigran Sargsyan made a point of establishing an Intel corporation-supported research center in Armenia which was welcomed by Mr. Barrett.

Speaking about his recent stay in the Silicon Valley on the sidelines of the ArmTech – 2009 forum, the head of government spoke about the operations of venture funds and Intel’s eventual involvement in these activities.

Views were exchanged on the government-approved concept of electronic society. In this context, Tigran Sargsyan advised that an advisory body is operational by the prime minister-headed council on e-governance and invited Mr. Barrett to take part in its activities.
