Head of RF Government Victor Zubkov has sent a congratulatory message to Tigran Sargsyan on his appointment to the office of RA Prime Minister. The message states in part:

"Dear Tigran Surenovich!

Please accept my sincere congratulations on your appointment to the post of Prime Minister of the Republic Armenia.

The Russian side attaches great importance to the deepening of strategic partnership and strengthening of mutually advantageous relations with Armenia. The multifaceted ties available in different areas of cooperation are extending. Trade turnover and Russian investments which are important to the development of key areas of Armenia's economy have been growing on a yearly basis. We are sincerely pleased with the qualitative changes which have taken place in our bilateral ties. They are becoming ever more harmonious owing to the joint efforts aimed at improving the cooperation in the economic and humanitarian spheres.

In Russia you are known as an outstanding Armenian statesman, highly skilled specialist and supporter of pro-active Russian-Armenian contacts in all areas. Collective Security Treaty Organization Secretary-General Nikolai Bordyuzha has sent a congratulatory message to Tigran Sargsyan on his appointment to the office of RA Prime Minister. The message states in part:
