RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan’s Congratulatory Message on 18th Anniversary of Republic of Armenia Independence

Dear compatriots,

I warmly congratulate us all on our chief State holiday – the Day of Independence.

The holiday of independence is an occasion for each of us to assess the path gone by the State, past challenges and achievements. This retrospective glance is an opportunity to look into the existing problems and anticipate future programs.

This is a day of pride for each of us. We should not be content to just getting independence as it needs follow-up care and strengthening, continued commitment to our centuries-old dream, our right to live in a sovereign country. All of us should be proud that our unfailing nationwide efforts’ have helped strengthen Motherland Armenia.

We are facing a historical period. The modern world keeps on sending ever new challenges to us. I am convinced that we will be able to defy them through unity and consolidation: the unity which gave birth to independence.

Dear compatriots, sisters and brothers,

Eighteen years is considered to be the threshold of majority. Today the sovereign statehood of Armenia is stepping over this threshold together with the coevals of independence. On this nice occasion, I am formulating separate congratulations for our children – those teenagers called “the generation of independence” who happened to be born in a free and sovereign Armenia.

With my reiterated congratulations on the Day of Independence, I wish my country and my people peace, prosperity and accomplishment of our national goals.
