Candidate in Architecture, Professor, Honored Architect of the Republic of Armenia, Distinguished Architect of the Russian Federation. RA State Prize laureate; full member of the Engineering Academies of Ukraine, Russia and Armenia. He was awarded the French Republic’s National Merit Medals of first and second degree, the Fridtjof Nansen Medal, as well as the gold medals of the Armenian Engineering Academy, International Engineering Academy, YAE University and the Ministry of Urban Development of the Republic of Armenia. He is chairman of the Architecture Board if the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
Liable to military service, reservist; he graduated a university-affiliated military chair in 1978-1980. In 1980, he did a 3-month army service to obtain the rank of
commissioned officer.
He is winner of many competitions and author of numerous projects and research papers. In 2015, he received a State award in the field of architecture and urban planning for the design of the Government’s administrative complex at Vazgen Sargsyan Street in Yerevan, as well as Anania Shirakatsi Medal for valuable contribution to the field of urban development and the Gold Medal of the Engineering Academy of the Russian Federation, 2016 "Saint Saak- Saint Mesrop" Medal of the Armenian Apostolic Church. 
In 2016, he was awarded in the nomination of "Тhe Best Foreign Building" at the international festival "Zodchestvo-2016" for the new government administrative complex.
