Consultation on Enhancing Public Awareness of State Symbols




Chaired by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, a consultation was held today in the Office of Government concerning the State symbols.

The meeting discussed questions bearing on the acknowledgement, valuing and enhancing public awareness of Republic of Armenia State symbols.

The program of actions features a number of undertakings: educational programs, publication of books and manuals, documentary filming and screening, conduct of civic and patriotic trainings with the use of State symbols, organization of expositions, contests etc.

Executive Director of “We” national values preservation foundation Pavel Sargsyan suggested marking the State Symbols Day every June 15 considering that the Republic of Armenia laws on national flag and coat of arms were adopted on June 15, 2006.

Summing up the meeting, Tigran Sargsyan instructed to set up a Ministry of Culture-headed task force involving all public stakeholders. The task force was charged to come up with a schedule of events for June 15, 2011.
