The Government approves the measure “Support for the export of fresh fruits, vegetables and flowers produced in greenhouses from the territory of the Republic of Armenia”

Today, the regular Cabinet meeting was held, chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Mher Grigoryan.

The Government approved the measure “Support for the export of fresh fruits, vegetables and flowers produced in greenhouses from the territory of the Republic of Armenia”, which will provide an opportunity to diversify export markets, which will contribute to ensuring the normal operation of companies. As noted by Deputy Minister of Economy Arman Khojoyan, within the framework of the program, economic entities exporting greenhouse tomatoes, peppers, strawberries and flowers will be provided with compensation aimed at ensuring competitiveness in the markets of other countries. According to the Deputy Minister, compensation is set for the exported volume for some main product groups within the following limits: for each 1 kg of strawberries - 770 drams, for each 1 kg of tomatoes - 275 drams, for peppers - 400 drams, for each 1 piece of flower - 37 drams. The program can be used by legal entities, individual entrepreneurs or individuals considered residents of the Republic of Armenia who exported products from the territory of the Republic of Armenia from June 1 to July 1, 2026. After exporting the specified products, the economic entity applies to the Ministry of Economy for compensation, submitting product distribution declarations or copies of export product declarations, as well as accounting documents, namely invoices. The period of the support measure is 1 month, it may be revised as necessary.

The Government made amendments and additions to the Export Promotion Assistance Program. As noted by the Deputy Minister of Economy, the goal of the program is to stimulate the export of goods of Armenian origin by producers to the EU, UK and Canadian markets through customs duty compensation. “In this context, there is a need to promote the export of primary production goods, in particular, in the case of the export of fresh fruits, vegetables and flowers to the EU, UK and Canadian markets, the Government of Armenia will pay the exporter or producer the full customs duty paid in the specified countries,” noted Arman Khojoyan and added that regardless of the form of supply, if the product is exported and the relevant documentation is presented, it is subject to compensation.

The Government redistributed about 7.12 billion drams. The amount is planned to be directed to the major renovation, reconstruction and construction of roads. The total length of the highways to be renovated, as stipulated by the decision, is 26.2 km, of which interstate highways are 4.4 km, national highways are 0.2 km, and regional (local) highways are 21.6 km.

The Government set the standards for fitness centers and gyms. “This decision completes this policy chain by setting the standards for fitness centers. They will come into effect one year after the decision is made, which is enough time for operating organizations to analyze their activities and make appropriate amendments if necessary,” noted Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Zhanna Andreasyan. According to the minister, the standards were developed in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Armenia, regulations have been established regarding fitness equipment, ventilation, bathrooms, water supply, lighting, as well as access to medical services if necessary.
