The Government plans to introduce a new, more targeted model for the restoration of the right to drive

Today, the regular Cabinet meeting was held, chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Mher Grigoryan.

The Government approved the bills “On Amendments and Addenda to the Law on Ensuring Road Traffic Safety” and related laws and considered them urgent. With the adoption of the bills, it is expected to introduce a new, more targeted model for the restoration of the right to drive, based on changing the behavior of persons deprived of the right to drive and proper control over it. The package of bills proposes to change the current model of driving license restoration by introducing the following more targeted procedure: 1) in case of applying within 1 year after the expiration of the deprivation period for a driving license, the right to drive shall be restored for the first time without passing qualification exams, upon payment of the state fee prescribed by law, and a probationary period of 1 year shall be established, and the second or subsequent time - after passing qualification exams; 2) in case of a probationary period, 6 points shall be allocated instead of 13 points; 3) in case of a person on probation who has exhausted the 6 penalty points, the right to drive shall be deprived for a period of one year; 4) in case of a person deprived of driving license, a state fee of fifty thousand drams shall be established for the restoration of the right to drive of a person deprived of driving license after the expiration of the deprivation period without passing qualification exams and establishing a probationary period.

By the decision of the government, an interconnected system of professional development and remuneration will be introduced for museum employees through certification. As noted by the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Zhanna Andreasyan, 151.8 million drams will be allocated for this purpose. The minister informed that 8 groups of positions have been separated, where there are employees performing various professional functions, and as a result, the average monthly salary will reach about 200 thousand drams.

The government has adopted a decision, which envisages setting the size of the honorarium in the event of signing a regular contract by servicemen serving under the “Defender of the Fatherland” program. As noted by the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia Arman Sargsyan, in the event of signing a regular contract for a period of 2 years, the amount of the honorarium has been set at 1.5 million drams, and in the event of signing a regular contract for a period of 5 years, at 5 million drams.

"The deadline for transferring to contractual service under the "Defender of the Fatherland" program is also being changed, as a result of which servicemen who have completed 4 months of compulsory military service can submit an application for transferring to contractual military service under the program, instead of the previous 6 months," the deputy minister said.

The Government has approved the procedure for the creation and implementation of the State Information System data exchange layer. It will guarantee the security of data exchange, data availability, and traceability. According to the substantiation, the State Information System is a centrally managed, distributed data exchange layer between information systems, based on the X-Road core. It provides a standardized and secure environment for the formation and provision of services, ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and interoperability between the parties to the data exchange. As a result, a unified data exchange layer of the State Information System will be created and launched in the Republic of Armenia, which will become one of the pillars of digital governance.
