Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan congratulatory message on Europe Day

Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan participated in the event dedicated to Europe Day and delivered a congratulatory message, in which he particularly noted:

“Your Excellency, Honorable Ambassador Maragos,

Your Excellencies,

Dear compatriots and European partners,

I welcome you on this significant day, which takes on a special meaning in the context of the European Political Community and Armenia-European Union summits held this week.

Mr. Ambassador, I express my gratitude to you and all our partners who, with their efforts, contributed to the best organization and implementation of these two historic events. These summits were an important milestone in terms of deepening our ambitious partnership with the European Union.

In a joint statement, the first Armenia-European Union summit was characterized as a historic milestone in the deepening of our relations, reflecting the achievements of recent years and the importance of the partnership. These high-level discussions reaffirmed the mutual commitment to advancing the ever-expanding strategic agenda between Armenia and the European Union.

Dear guests,

Today we celebrate Europe Day together with the values that are inextricably linked to peace, democracy and the protection of human rights.

In the 1950 declaration, Robert Schuman proposed the creation of a community of states, convinced that “World peace cannot be safeguarded without the making of creative efforts proportionate to the dangers which threaten i.” His words still resonate today in our changing reality.

Throughout its existence, the European Union has proven that it can successfully overcome challenges and crises, ensuring a future where peaceful coexistence, economic growth, social development and fundamental freedoms are guaranteed. And it was not by chance that the summits held in Yerevan focused on this common vision of creating a stable and prosperous region, making our country a hub of connectivity between Europe and Asia.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Today we can confidently state that our bilateral relations with Brussels and other European capitals are experiencing their most important phase. Our goal is to build on the achievements of recent years and create new opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation for our societies.

With the support of the European Union, we will continue the path of implementing reforms, developing resilience and modernizing the economy, building on the progress recorded in the previous period.

And now, it is time to focus more on the urgent process of implementing the joint commitments outlined at the high political level, giving new momentum and content to the slogan “Armenia-European Union. Closer than ever”.

Once again, I congratulate everyone on Europe Day and wish you a good mood.”
